Barry Bollinger grew up in rural Carroll County, Maryland on a working dairy farm where he spent most of his time doing just that – working. Aside from the long list of daily duties of living on the farm, Barry spent any “free” time with his father hunting pheasants and rabbits with their beagles in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Unfortunately by the 1990s, wild pheasant in Maryland were almost extinct and Barry put bird hunting on the back burner for a while.

 
In 2009, Barry's family welcomed Friedelsheims Luci, their first German Shorthair Pointer (GSP), into their home. Luci was the missing link and blessing in disguise that reconnected Barry to hunting upland game and waterfowl countrywide and led him into the Friedelsheims bloodline and the NAVDHA world. Since then, Barry has spent over thirteen years as an active member of the Potomac NAVDHA Chapter and spent a brief time as a training coordinator within the chapter.

  

Barry is a seasoned hunting dog trainer and breeder with a reputation that stretches across the country. With over a decade of experience,  Barry has honed his skills in training elite hunting dogs, specializing in pointing breeds that excel as foot hunters and competitive events. His passion for the sport and his deep knowledge of canine behavior have made him a sought-after trainer, helping handlers elevate their dogs' performance to championship levels and/or the best hunting companion they can be.

  

Not just a trainer, Barry is also an ambitious hunter and breeder, focused on developing a dual-purpose line of dogs that combine intelligence, drive, and outstanding instincts in the field and in the home. His breeding program is rapidly gaining recognition for producing dogs that excel both in competition and in the field, with many of his dogs earning titles and accolades at major national events.

  

Whether he's coaching novice hunters, handling dogs in competition, or selecting the best pairings for his breeding program, Barry's dedication to his craft is unwavering. His commitment to excellence, along with a growing national presence, has established him as one of the premier hunting dog trainers and breeders in the country.
